Legendary former striker Antonio Cassano believes that Inter played well in the derby against AC Milan but they risked throwing away the match when their level dropped in the final minutes of the match.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former Roma, Real Madrid, and Inter forward gave his analysis of the match and also spoke on the situation of Alexis Sanchez at Inter.

The Nerazzurri looked to have been dominating possession and creating more chances for long spells against their city rivals and will have felt unfortunate not have been ahead by at least a goal as the game drew to a close.

However, it was Inter who looked to be the side desperately holding on in the final portion of the match, as their city rivals re-tooled their midfield with substitutions and suddenly exerted full control against a Nerazzurri side who looked tired and had lost key players through injury during the second half.

Inter survived the late push by their city rivals to keep their point from the match, but they were given a good scare.

Cassano stated that “I liked Milan-Inter very much, ‘sI put it at the level of Atalanta-Inter. I saw a wonderful match, a great advertisement for football. Inter had a few more opportunities, but Milan could have won it too, and I had the impression they did not suffer too much. Inter lost four points to Juve and Milan, at this point in the season they could have been closer to top spot.”

“Inter in the last ten minutes risked losing the match,” he continued, “they have blackouts that I don’t understand, they are not dependable.”

And on the late introduction of Alexis Sanchez he stated that “I put myself in the mind of a champion like him, how can he accept to play only seven minutes? I’d go crazy, what reaction would you have had?”
