Chilean national team head coach Martin Lasarte believes that Inter forward Alexis Sanchez has played well when he has appeared for his club despite being given limited minutes.

Speaking in a press conference as reported by FCInterNews, the Chile boss gave the view that the Chilean has been in good form for the Nerazzurri even though he has been restricted to appearances from the bench in recent matches.

Sanchez’s last start for Inter was against Empoli, a match in which he assisted the Nerazzurri’s opener, and he has come on as a substitute in the second half of each of the three matches that followed.

The Chilean scored an impressive solo goal to wrap up a win against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League, though he was unable to have an impact against AC Milan in Sunday’s derby.

Lasarte, however, believes that in the amount of time that he has been given on the pitch, and 32-year-old has impressed.

“Alexis didn’t play for a while and for me he played fantastic in the past three games,” he stated. “He has been good taking into account how little he played. Arturo, on the other hand, had more playing time.”
