Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic is fully committed to the Nerazzurri regardless of his contract situation and wants to give his best to the club.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid, the Croat emphasized that as long as he is an Inter player he will do everything to contribute to the cause.

Perisic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022 but there still appears to be some distance between him and the club before any possible agreement on an extension is reached.

The 32-year-old has been in excellent form this season, however, having already made himself a key player throughout his time at the club.

Whether or not Perisic decides to commit his future to the Nerazzurri beyond next summer, at any rate, he will continue to do everything he can to help the team win as long as he is still in a Nerazzurri shirt.

“We have progressed from the group after many years and tomorrow we have a very important game for first in the group,” he said of tomorrow’s match.

“We arrive in Madrid with our heads clear,” he went on, “we have nothing to lose, but we still want to win.”

“We are hungry and we have shown it,” he continued, “like we have in the past few weeks. It will certainly be different than in the other matches, we are free mentally, but we still want to give everything for Inter and finish the season in the best possible way.”

“I have been here for many years,” Perisic reflected, “even under Spalletti we played well but we didn’t have the hunger that came with Conte.”

“Now under Inzaghi we are playing the right way,” he added.

Regarding his contract situation, the 32-year-old said that “I can’t say anything. Tomorrow an important game awaits us, let’s see in a few weeks. I still have six months left on my contract and I will give my all until the last day, I just hope that Inter win.”
