According to Spanish newspaper AS transfermarket expert, Pablo Esteban Manolete, Erick Thohir dreams of making a surprise move for FC Barcelona’s midfieldmaestro Andrés Iniesta.
Manolete reports further that the dream is possible of being realized because “Inter’s new owner, multimillionaire Erick Thohir, has set his sights on the Barca star and is prepared to table an offer which will interfere with Barcelona’s negotiations for an extension of the players current contract with the club. It is also rumoured that Thohir hasn’t forgot about Xavi and that he is considering to pounce on the duo. Already last week, rumours were circulating regarding to other Spanish stars, namely Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos” Manolete concludes.
If this isn’t the definition of a ‘Silly Season’ rumour…

Actually our books are balanced we have no debt so going after stars is possible now… the debts were paid off when Thohir bought the team with the 300 million euros he paid went to clearing inter debts completely
First of all, just because we have a new rich owner, doesn’t mean we are out of the FFP hole we fell into. There is NO WAY we are inn a position to pay the types of salaries that Xavi, Iniesta, Cassilas and Ramos are cashing inn at Barca and Madrid.
2nd. He want’s to model his new Inter after the youth developing philosophies of Arsenal, Xavi and Iniesta aren’t kids anymore.
3. I’m no psychic, but if I where I’d say: Don’t expect lots of BIG NAME signings….best case scenario (i’d think) a few REALLY talented players, some mid twenties experiense in the back and maybe (maaaaybe) one “marquee” signing.. but probably a slow January window and expecting some signings in summer.
but Xavi and Iniesta…NEVER GONNA HAPPEN !!!
I think he would have better luck to pull a rabbit out of his as than this move…… Somthing a little more imaginable maybe….say….two good defenders and a good holding midfielder and a world class attacker…..
