Inter head into 2022 in good form and with encouraging signs as to how their season will go, but they face a difficult set of fixtures to begin the year.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who note that the Nerazzurri will have to face all of their major Scudetto rivals as well as Lazio and Champions League round of sixteen opponents Liverpool within forty days.

The Nerazzurri face Torino on Wednesday to close out a very positive 2021 before they head into the winter break, and then they return with an away trip to play Bologna in Serie A on January 6.

After this, however, Simone Inzaghi’s team will very quickly find themselves facing a real gauntlet of fixtures including the likes of the Biancocelesti, top four rivals AC Milan, Atalanta, and Napoli, and Junentus in the Supercoppa Italiana.

Things will really come to a head when the Nerazzurri close out this difficult period of the calendar by hosting Liverpool in their first leg of the Champions League round of sixteen tie.

All of these promise to be among Inter’s most difficult matches of the season, and how they cope in such a short space of time will play a big role in determining how their season ends up.
