Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinokovic-Savic feels that the Biancocelesti deserved a point for their efforts in yesterday evening’s Serie A clash with Inter.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the 26-year-old gave the view that his side’s performance would have been worth a draw in spite of the final 2-1 scoreline in favour of the Nerazzurri.
Inter took the lead through a drilled long-range effort by Alessandro Bastoni before Lazio striker Ciro Immobile capitalized on a mix-up at the back to draw the visitors level at the San Siro.
In the second half, however, the Nerazzurri found the goal they needed to take three points from the clash, with Milan Skriniar heading home from a Bastoni cross.
Lazio had chances and positive moments during the encounter, however, and Milinkovic-Savic is of the view that they should have been able to snatch a point from it rather than fall to defeat.
“In my opinion we would have deserved a draw,” he stated. “We leave the pitch with our heads held high.”
