Inter have identified Sampdoria’s Morten Thorsby as their solution in midfield should Stefano Sensi and Matias Vecino leave the club during the January transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will move for the Norwegian in the event that Sensi goes the other way on loan, and Vecino also leaves the club.
Sensi could be allowed to leave on loan for the second half of the season in search of more regular playing time, and the Blucerchiati appear to be the club with the strongest interest in loaning him in.
It remains to be seen if the 26-year-old decides to accept Sampdoria’s offer, but if he does then Thorsby could be a target going the other way.
It also remains to be seen if Vecino stays at Inter for the remainder of his contract or moves to a new club during the January window, but this would also likely be a precondition for a move for Thorsby.
