Inter midfielder Matias Vecino is likely to remain at the Nerazzurri for the rest of the season and leave at the end of his contract in the summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 30-year-old does not look set for a move away from Inter during the January transfer window.
Vecino has seen his playing time limited this season and has even publicly complained about the matter, leading to the possibility that he could seek a new club six months before his current deal expires.
The Nerazzurri would not stand in the Uruguayan’s way and there are interested clubs, but at the moment he prefers to continue to take his opportunities at Inter and then choose a new club on a free transfer in the summer.
The Nerazzurri would likely replace Vecino in midfield were he to leave, but this appears unlikely.
