The agent of new Inter defender Robin Gosens has revealed how quickly the negotiations for the player accelerated over the past couple of days, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during an interview with Calciomercato.com, Gianluca Mancini explained that whilst Inter had been following the player for some time, there was a rapid acceleration earlier this week that finalised the move.
“Inter had been following him for some time and obviously his numbers were there for everyone to see, then on Monday during the day there was an acceleration and everything was done in 48 hours.”
When asked what Robin Gosens feelings were once it became clear that the move was going to happen, Gianluca Mancini explained that he was happy and has been hoping for this type of move.
“Obviously he was very happy, he had been waiting for such an opportunity for a long time and we are convinced it is the perfect club for him, in the year of the World Cup it was important for him to take this step.”
Gianluca Mancini clearly has a lot of confidence in his client as he feels that the German is the best in his position right now.
“I’ll be biased but I think Gosens is the strongest in Europe in his role, Inter have certainly strengthened themselves so they can aim for any goal.”
Robin Gosens and Simone Inzaghi have already had some conversations and the agent revealed that there is already a great feeling between the new player and his coach.
“Absolutely yes, they have already spoken and there was an excellent feeling right away. Robin is very happy to start this adventure with him.”
