Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is highly committed to improving and being fully prepared for matches, and goes well beyond the normal call of duty to be at his best.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman has employed a personalized tactical analyst since 2017 to improve his game.

De Vrij has continually improved since joining Inter in the summer of 2018 from Lazio, and part of the reason for this has been the 29-year-old’s constant attention to preparing and cutting out flaws from his game.

The defender works with Dutch fitness and tactical coach Loran Vrielink, founder of the Tactalyse startup, with the aim of making his style of play more complete in terms of his physical traits, mentality, and reading of the game.

In addition, the Dutchman employs “neuro-linguistic programming” to support his development, and also does breathing exercises starting three hours before every game to improve his concentration through an app designed by Dutch meditation guru Wim Hof.
