Former Napoli owner Corrado Ferlaino has praised the quality of Inter’s squad but said he is not sure if they are favourites to win the Scudetto, according to a report in the Italian print media.
Speaking during an interview with Corriere dello Sport yesterday, Corrado Ferlaino showed how highly he rates the Inter squad but stopped short of calling them the favourites despite their game in hand.
“In terms of value, Inter are more dangerous than AC Milan. They are a quality team, they are fresh from winning the championship, they have a wide staff. I don’t know if they are the favourite, even if that match to be recovered represents a condition of presumed advantage.”
He then discussed the upturn in form of Juventus who signed Dusan Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria during the January transfer window.
He feels that they are too late to join the fight for the title but they can finish in the top four Champions League qualification spots.
He also said that Inter and Napoli are ahead of everyone else, discounting AC Milan from the title race in the process.
“They don’t have time to return for the Scudetto. But in my opinion, they will make it for the Champions League. The title is a three-way affair, maybe two, because Inter and Napoli are ahead of the others. And on Saturday a piece is decided, not all, because then there are still several games.”
Inter will face Napoli in Campania on Saturday evening where the Azzurri can move ahead of Inter.
