Barcelona have made contact with Inter defender Stefan de Vrij’s agent Mino Raiola about a possible summer move for the Dutchman.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Catalan giants have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for de Vrij, who the Nerazzurri want at least €30 million for.

De Vrij’s current deal with Inter is set to run out at the end of June 2023, and while the club have had a general agreement with him to extend it until the end of June 2025, this has been put on the backburner.

The Nerazzurri aren’t prioritizing the renewal of the 30-year-old at the moment, and could cash in on him in the summer rather than extending him on the agreed-upon €4.5 million net per season.

So far, Premier League side Spurs have been one of the Dutchman’s main suitors, but now the Blaugranas look to be seriously weighing up a move for him.

Raiola has been on the lookout for a potential new club for de Vrij in the summer, and now he has been contacted by Barcelona.

The Catalans have a significant transfer budget for the summer now that they have agreed on a sponsorship deal with Spotify, and de Vrij could be the player they look to to shore up their defense.

The Nerazzurri would consider a sale of the Dutchman, though only for at least €30 million, and should they sell him they will move for Torino defender Bremer.
