Inter had been in their worst patch of form heading into yesterday evening’s Serie A clash with Salernitana, but they looked to have been fully back to life with their performance to shellac the newly-promoted side.

This “resurrection” is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who suggest that the Nerazzurri confidently responded to their recent crisis in form on virtually all levels with the result.

Striker Lautaro Martinez bagged a hat-trick to well and truly put his recent goal drought behind him, whilst Edin Dzeko also chipped in with two goals, affirming his place in the team after having been one of the more consistent performers throughout the recent bad period.

The strike pair looked “back from the dead” with their incisive finishing, whilst the team as a whole looked to be more confident and playing their game more quickly than they have been in recent matches.

Nicolo Barella in particular impressed with his all-action display and two assists for Martinez’s and the team’s first two goals, and the result has drastically altered the mood surrounding the team.
