Former Inter midfielder Luigi Di Biagio feels that current Nerazzurri striker Lautaro looked visibly improved once he scored against Salernitana on Friday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the 50-year-old noted how the striker seemed to be playing with more incisiveness and confidence once he broke his duck with his first goal of the match.

Martinez scored three times against Salernitana to inspire his team to an emphatic win, their first in five Serie A matches, and also put his own miserable spell in front of goal behind him.

Once the Argentine managed to score his first goal in Serie A in more than two months, the other two came in quick succession as he raced to a hat-trick.

Di Biagio feels that now that Martinez has put his goal drought behind him, he should be back to looking like his usual self with the weight lifted from him.

“We always expect great things from him because he’s a great guy,” the former midfielder said of Martinez. “At the beginning he was unable to finish from dangerous situations because he was running low on confidence, and then we saw him score a hat-trick and it was like night and day.”
