Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter have the chance to take decisive control in the Serie A title race if they are to beat Bologna this evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Sconcerti gave the view that this evening’s match could well be the decisive one for the Nerazzurri’s title charge.

Inter are two points behind city rivals AC Milan, but against Bologna they will finally be able to play their game in hand, and they have the opportunity to take top stop in the table without any asterisks or caveats.

The Rossoneri still have the head-to-head advantage over their city rivals, but Inter will surely feel that if they can head into the last four matches with a tangible advantage they can send a message.

Inter’s fate has been in their hands mathematically speaking for a couple weeks, but if they are to win today it will feel like a real tangible advantage.

“They can put Milan down,” Sconcerti said. “If the Nerazzurri win they go a point ahead, otherwise they remain behind and give way at the top.”

“Milan have a tougher schedule but also the character to take home the four remaining matches,” he added. “This is Inter’s opportunity.”
