Inter are close to agreeing a new contract with wingback Ivan Perisic, who is set to stay at the club and rotate with Robin Gosens next season.

This according to to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the plan is to have Perisic remain in the squad whilst Gosens will also start to have a more prominent role in the team.

A meeting is set for May 23 which should be the decisive round of contract talks for Perisic, with the Nerazzurri aiming to keep him on for at least another season.

The club are ready to offer €4 million net per season on a one-year deal with the option of a further season, whilst the player is asking for a two-year deal worth €5 million net per season.

An agreement should be found somewhere in the middle, with the Nerazzurri envisioning that the Croat will continue to play a prominent role in the team.

Robin Gosens has not yet made a significant impact since joining from Atalanta during the January transfer window, as he has not yet started a match, down largely to the form of Perisic.

However, the club’s intention is for the two to share the duties on the left side next season, and they do not see a reason why the two players cannot coexist in the position.
