Inter could agree on a departure for forward Alexis Sanchez with a payment in the region of €4 million, the same amount which they are set to pay Arturo Vidal to offload him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri could use the same strategy to secure Sanchez’s exit as they had with his Chilean teammate.

In Vidal’s case, the €4 million payment was defined in the 35-year-old’s contract, which contained an option to extend for one season on improved wages which the Nerazzurri could choose not to trigger if they paid him a severance of €4 million.

A severance payment could also be how Inter get things wrapped up with Sanchez’s exit, with the 33-year-old still having one season left to go on his contract but not in the plans for next season.

Given that the €4 million figure was sufficient to see the back of Vidal, agreeing a similar payment with Sanchez could ensure that both of the top earners from last season are off the books.
