Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi does not see the use of Joaquin Correa in an attacking midfield position as a permanent role for the Argentine, and has only turned to it as a temporary solution.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach still sees Correa as principally an attacker despite having tested him out in a trequartista role in training recently.
One tweak noted by observers in the Nerazzurri’s return to training was the coach’s use of Correa as the attacking midfielder behind two strikers in a 3-4-1-2 formation in a training match.
The coach could be thinking of ways to get the best out of new players in his squad and make the team more tactically versatile, and see Correa as suited to a different role in a new system.
However, according to the Corriere, the former Lazio coach has mostly just turned to the tactical tweak as an expedient solution given that he does not yet have the full squad at his disposal.
