Legendary former Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Dinoi Zoff feels that Alexis Sanchez should leave Inter this summer so that he can still find the right club to shine at.
Speaking to Chilean newspaper La Tercera in an interview published in today’s print edition, Zoff gave the view that if the 33-year-old is not in the plans at the Nerazzurri next season then he should leave for another top-level club where he can make a contribution.
Sanchez seems to clearly not be in the plans at Inter for next season, with the Chilean having not been a regular starter particularly in his final season at the club.
Reports have suggested that the former Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United forward is looking for a club of a certain stature for his nature, particularly in one of European football’s top leagues, and Zoff believes that this is a reasonable ambition for him.
“I have no doubt that the Chilean is an excellent player,” the former goalkeeper said. “In recent years he has contributed a lot to the Nerazzurri’s success, despite having played little – every time he has appeared, he’s always made a difference.”
He continued that “If Inter no longer wants him, then he must leave because he still has the quality to play for a top European team.”
