Salernitana owner Danilo Iervolino has confirmed his club’s interest in signing Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Iervolino named the 23-year-old as one of the players who the Campanian clubs are looking at to strengthen their attack for next season.

Salernitana have been among a number of teams linked with interest in Pinamonti this summer, with the likes of Atalanta, Monza, and Sassuolo also serious about trying to sign him after his strong loan season with Empoli last campaign.

The Campanians have already signed former Nerazzurris striker Federico Bonazzoli on a permanent basis from Sampdoria after his loan spell with them last time around, and they are looking for another striker to complete their attack along with the 25-year-old.

There have been a few players linked for the position, and Iervolino did not try and hide his club’s intentions with respect to the strikers most heavily linked in reports.

“I can say that the names that are circulating are all true ,” he admitted. “Pinamonti is a player we like very much, an official offer has been made for Maupay and you know very well how the situation is evolving.”

He continued that “Piatek is the one closest to Salernitana, we’re working hard to make him available to the coach within a few days.”
