Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah will not be able to leave Chelsea on loan unless the Blues get a deal done to sign his replacement Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that while the 23-year-old Englishman could join Inter on loan before the transfer window slams shut, it would only be after Chelsea confirm that they’ve secured his replacement.

Inter are targeting Chalobah as a low-cost solution to reinforce their defense, and they feel that the fact that he is not in Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans could mean that the Premier League side would be receptive to sanctioning a loan deal.

However, the Blues have not yet gotten a deal done for their priority target for the defense in the form of Fofana, and they would be unwilling to let Fofana leave before they are able to agree a deal with Leicester.
