Wingback Robin Gosens has asked Inter for a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen as he feels that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi does not have full faith in him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Giornale, who report that the 28-year-old wants to nail down a starting role for himself elsewhere and so has asked the Nerazzurri to allow him to leave for Leverkusen.

Gosens has started just one match for Inter since joining from Atalanta during the January transfer window, the win over Spezia earlier this season.

The outstanding form of Ivan Perisic last season was a big part of the reason why the German was unable to break into the team over the second half of last season, particularly given that he was still getting back to his best following a long-term injury.

However, Gosens will have been hoping that this season things would be different and that he could start to play his way into a spot in the starting eleven.

So far, Federico Dimarco looks to be just as much of an option at left-wingback, and for this reason the 28-year-old would be keen on trying his luck in the Bundesliga, as he has doubts that Inzaghi will ever make him an unquestioned starter at Inter.
