Former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has said that he really likes Inter’s Nicolo Barella as well as other Italian midfielders, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during the Trento Sports Festival, as reported by FCInternews, the former Italy international discussed some of the Italian players that he is enjoying watching the most at the moment.
One of the players that he picked out was Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella who is regularly linked with expensive moves to other teams in Europe.
He explained how he likes him and Sassuolo man Davide Frattesi: “I like both Nicolò Barella and Davide Frattesi a lot, because on the pitch I move like them. Of Barella we know everything, instead I was sorry that Frattesi this summer did not go to a big team. Just as I was sorry to see Gianluca Scamacca leave and go to the Premier League.”
Nicolo Barella had very mixed form last season and he has carried on in much the same vein. He is one fo the players that can win games in a second for Simone Inzaghi but it can be a problem if one of the midfielders has gone missing.
There is more pressure on him this year with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Kristjan Asllani in the squad.
