Former Inter owner Massimo Moratti has said that he would have brought Erling Haaland to the Nerazzurri had he been around in his time, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Il Secolo XIX, the former Inter owner discussed one of the most exciting players in world football right now.

Erling Haaland has scored a ridiculous number of goals since he joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He is already regarded as possibly the best player in the world and Massimo Moratti was asked who he thinks the hottest talents are right now.

He mentioned that former Inter sporting director Marco Branca would have wanted him to sign Erling Haaland and he would have made it happen.

“Branca would have made me buy Haaland, 100%, I can already see him saying ‘president this guy is special’ and I would have brought him to Inter.”

He also talked about how two former Inter players, Thiago Motta and Dejan Stankovic will be facing off as the coaches of Bologna and Sampdoria this weekend.

“It’s impressive, it’s beautiful to see that they have grown up and now coach important clubs, with great tradition.

“They were very strong as footballers and they also have qualities as coaches. Dejan can lift the Blucerchiati.”
