Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella has said that the team reacted really well in the draw against Barcelona which was exactly what they needed, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Inter TV after the 3-3 draw with Barcelona at Camp Nou, via FCInternews, Nicolo Barella praised the mentality that was shown by the Nerazzurri to get a good result.

Inter knew that if they were to lose against Barcelona, it would seriously hinder their chances of qualifying for the Round of 16 for a second consecutive season.

They went 1-0 down after Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the first half but they reacted well and that is what pleased Nicolo Barella.

“Apart from the goal it was a beautiful team reaction. It was a difficult moment and we showed that we were there.”

He also praised Andre Onana for the way that he managed the tempo of the game in Inter’s favour during the second half.

“Andre was great in managing the tempo, but we all gave a great performance and that’s what we needed.”

He also stressed how much the team needed to get a result like this after poor recent form.

“Yes, like I said, we needed it. We are happy because we showed that we were there even in a difficult moment.

“We are men, when you fall you have to get back up. This is for us and for the people who are always there for us.”
