Salernitana head coach Davide Nicola feels that his team will have to be at their absolute best to have a chance of getting a result against Inter tomorrow.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match, as reported by FCInterNews, Nicola stressed that with the Nerazzurri’s quality, his team will have little margin for error.

Salernitana have gotten their season off to a decent start as they’ve built upon their remarkable survival push from last campaign with some good summer signings.

However, the Salerno-based team will certainly feel that, regardless of what the form table says, a team like Inter are in another league from them.

The Granata have already managed a draw against Juventus this season for perhaps their most eye-catching result so far in the campaign.

If Nicola’s men are to equal or even better that achievement, however, they’ll have to step up their game tomorrow.

“We have to maintain the usual level of aggression regardless of how we hold our defensive line,” the coach said.

“In some moments I want us to hold a high line, and in others stay deeper,” he continued.

“We’re working on many different situations, Inter are at a very high level in their tactical interpretation all over the pitch.”

He noted that “Considering that there will be a huge impact from the crowd, it will also be difficult to give instructions, which is why I hope the players will be able to recognize the various moments of the match and be balanced and proactive.”

And when asked if he thinks the fatigue from playing against Barcelona could impact Inter, Nicola replied that “They have players who are used to playing every three days at a certain level, I don’t think it will affect them too much.”

“Their level is such that they can immediately recharge their batteries,” he continued. “It’s up to us to be at our best mentally.”
