Salernitana head coach Davide Nicola feels that his team acquitted themselves well this afternoon, but that Inter are always tough opposition.

Speaking in a press conference after the Serie A match, as reported by FCInter1908, the coach stressed that playing against a Nerazzurri team on this form is never going to be easy for a team like his.

Salernitana will have fancied their chances to spoil Inter’s afternoon by taking a result from the San Siro, even if they’ll have been well aware it wouldn’t be easy.

The Granata have taken ten points so far this season, establishing a place in midtable, and earning a point away to Juventus.

However, apart from a few nervy moments at the back, Inter were in full control and saw out the result without too much fuss.

Nicola was not unhappy with how his team played, however, and instead credited the Nerazzurri for their performance.

“Today we came up against a team who were very difficult to face, in terms of quality and physicality,” he said.

“I was happy with what I saw from the guys,” he added. “We could have done more on the second goal, but in all we came up against a very strong team.”
