Suning’s hopes of selling their ownership of Inter could hinge on the approval of the new stadium project, as they seek greater sources of revenue.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Il Giornale, there is growing speculation that Suning and club President Steven Zhang are ready to sell, and a new stadium owned by the Nerazzurri would help facilitate this.
Inter’s Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello confirmed that plans for a new stadium were still going ahead, and it is reported that the approval of these will be key to the Biscione’s future.
The newspaper claims that by securing the move to a new ground, Inter will see their revenue increase significantly and a modern stadium would only increase the attractiveness of the club to investors.
This in turn would give Suning greater scope to sell on their own terms and demand a price that is more in line with their expectations of the value of the club.
