Inter wingback Federico Dimarco is hoping that the Nerazzurri can get back in the Serie A title race by taking things one match at a time.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the 24-year-old suggested that the best thing for the Nerazzurri to do is to not look too far ahead of themselves and to simply focus on each match that comes along.

Inter have found their feet again after a tough start to the season, and yesterday evening’s 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen feels like confirmation of this fact.

However, there remains a significant gap that the Nerazzurri have to make up in the Serie A table, due to their bad start to the campaign.

Getting back into the hunt for the title will not be a straightforward task by any stretch.

However, the Nerazzurri have gotten to where they are not by taking things match by match, and they could continue to do this to slowly inch up the table.

“If we’re going to come back in the table, the only thing that we can do is take things one match at a time,” Dimarco said.

Of the returning Romelu Lukaku, Dimarco said that “I’m happy for him, because he showed that he wanted to return to Inter.”

“He was out for two months though, but now he’s back with a goal,” he said. “He can give us a big hand.”
