Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani insists that his side are determined to build on their good form when they take on Sampdoria in Serie A this evening.

The Nerazzurri welcome relegation-threatened Sampdoria to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and Asllani has been named on the bench for the clash, but was optimistic that his team could secure a fourth win in a row.

In an interview with Inter TV before kick-off, as reported by FCInterNews.it, the former Empoli midfielder urged his teammates to go into the encounter with confidence, as they look to make up for a disappointing start to the season.

“There is a great enthusiasm now that we come from a good streak of results,” Asllani claimed.

“We have to continue this positive streak that we are on, we know that it is a very difficult game but we must take these three points.”

Sampdoria have endured a miserable season but beat Cremonese last weekend to haul themselves off the bottom of the table, and Asllani warned against complacency.

“Yes, Sampdoria are confident at the moment, they have won the last two games (including in the Coppa Italia), we know that it is a difficult team to face but we focus on ourselves.

“We know what we have to do and we have to take these three points.”

Asllani is still adapting to life at the Nerazzurri after his switch from Empoli in the summer, but the Albania international was positive about his start at the club.

“It’s going well, I’m happy that all the guys welcomed me from the beginning.

“I found a fantastic group and I’m also happy about the fans, they give me a lot of affection, particularly in the many messages they send me,” he concluded.
