Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella insisted that the Nerazzurri are moving in the right direction after his goal in tonight’s 3-0 win over Sampdoria in Serie A.

The Italy international netted with a magnificent effort to double Inter’s lead at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, after defender Stefan De Vrij had earlier put them ahead, and Joaquin Correa rounded off the scoring with a fine solo goal.

Speaking to Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Barella claimed that the Biscione’s scoring prowess was an important factor in them extending their winning run to four games.

“Matches are won by scoring goals and we are scoring many, we are on the right path,” the former Cagliari midfielder declared.

Barella’s goal came after a superb long pass from centre-back Alessandro Bastoni to find him in space, and the midfielder was full of praise for his teammate.

“The boys know that I do that movement, it doesn’t matter who puts the ball through for me but Bastoni is very good at this and I thank him.”

Meanwhile, Barella shared a joke with striker Romelu Lukaku after his goal and revealed what he told the Belgian.

“I hit him after the goal, I told him that the ball was struck like that.

“But I hugged everyone, especially those who play less and give us so much strength,” Barella concluded.
