Inter were not able to get a result in their final match of the Champions League group stage away to Bayern Munich.
Despite pushing to take something back to Milan, the Nerazzurri were outclassed and fell to defeat by a 2-0 scoreline as they had in the first meeting between the two sides this evening.
Nevertheless, Inter can leave with their head held high after managing to qualify for the knockout rounds of the competition with a match to spare.
Inter faced fifteen shots in the first half of the match, and as football statistics account Opta highlighted in a tweet, this was something of a first for the Nerazzurri.
Opta’s tweet read, “15 – Inter have faced 15 shots in the opening 45 minutes against Bayern Munich, the most for the Nerazzurri in a #UCL first half in the current format (since 2003/04), level with the game against Barcelona on October 12th. Pressure.”
