Inter fans at the San Siro booed the chants by the Curva Nord ultras group in tribute to their slain former leader Vittoria Boiocchi at yesterday evening’s Serie A match against Bologna.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the loud booing and whistling heard in the stadium during the first half of the match was a direct response to chants by the Nord ultras.

The Curva Nord ultras were at yesterday’s match, the first Nerazzurri fixture at the San Siro since the scandalous scenes of two weekends ago when members of the group used intimidation and violence to force regular matchgoing fans to vacate the stadium’s north stand.

This had been done as part of a spontaneous tribute to prominent Nord leader Boiocchi, who had been shot dead shortly before the match, a 3-0 victory over Sampdoria.

The incident was the source of significant controversy given that the ultras forced regular ticket-holding fans to leave as part of their tribute to Boiocchi, and put a spotlight on some of the behaviours of the Nord ultras group.

The Nord continued their tribute to Boiocchi with chants of “Vittoria, one of us” during the first half of yesterday evening’s match, a 6-1 Serie A win over Sampdoria.

However, this was clearly not well-received by many of the matchgoing fans at the ground, as once the chants started up loud booing could be heard throughout the San Siro.
