Italian journalist Paolo De Paola believes that the January period could see a big shakeup in the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio yesterday, via FCInter1908, De Paola argued that the sequence of fixtures that sees Napoli face Inter, Juventus, and Roma could see the Partenopei’s title hopes dented significantly compared to the current moment.

Right now, Napoli look to be well on their way as favourites to win the Serie A title.

The Partenopei have dropped just four points all season, with all of their major rivals enduring at least a few major stumbles over the course of the campaign.

However, if Napoli were to endure even a couple of tough results, it would certainly be enough to give the likes of Inter, Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, and Lazio at least a glimmer of hope that they can catch up.

Given that the Partenopei face a number of direct rivals in January, this could be a significant period.

De Paola argued, “Let’s see what happens when Napoli face Inter, Juve and Roma in the space of ten days.”
