Inter could look to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram during the January transfer window, but only if they sell one of midfielder Roberto Gagliardini or forward Joaquin Correa first.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who reported this afternoon via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri would be ready to offer €10 million for the Frenchman rather than waiting to sign him for free in January.
Thuram has not left Inter’s radar after having been a target during the summer 2021 transfer window.
Given that injuries have been a problem for the Nerazzurri’s attack over the first half of the current season, the club are seriously considering reinforcing in the forward areas as soon as January.
Mediaset report that Thuram would be one of the first names on Inter’s list, and they could look to beat out the competition of a number of clubs for his signature including Juventus.
A January move would mean that the Nerazzurri would beat the rush to sign the 25-year-old on a free transfer when his contract at Gladbach expires at the end of June 2023.
Inter could look to convince Gladbach to let Thuram leave for €10 million during the January window rather than losing him for nothing next summer.
However, a sale would be needed in order to finance a move for the Frenchman with a transfer fee.
According to Mediaset, Correa and Gagliardini would be the two main names who could depart to make way for Thuram, with the latter particularly a target for Cremonese.
