Empoli have asked for information about the availability of Inter-owned striker Sebastiano Esposito for the January transfer window.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported on air this evening, via FCInterNews, that the 20-year-old is a target for the Tuscans.

Esposito’s loan spell with Belgian side Anderlecht looks destined to be cut short, as the striker is now back in Italy having fallen down the pecking order in the Belgians’ starting eleven.

A move to an Italian team could be on the cards for the 20-year-old striker, who has spent time on loan with the likes of SPAL, Venezia, and Basel over the past couple of seasons.

According to Pedulla, Serie A side Empoli are one of the teams most interested in Esposito’s signature at the moment.

The transfer market expert notes that relations between Inter and Empoli are good, with the Nerazzurri having signed midfielder Kristjan Asllani during the summer transfer window whilst striker Martin Satriano went the opposite way on loan.
