Inter are set to meet with the entourage of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram as they seek to secure his signature.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri’s lengthy pursuit of the Frenchman is still very much alive despite interest in him from Bayern Munich, and Inter are due to arrange a meeting after the World Cup.

Thuram is out of contract at the end of the season and has made clear his intention to leave Gladbach, and Inter remain optimistic that they can convince the former Guingamp man to make the switch to Serie A.

Whilst the Nerazzurri cannot match the wages on offer from Bayern, they believe that Thuram could be persuaded to join due to the promise of greater playing time.

However, Inter are still working out how to clear space and funds for Thuram, and must move another forward on in order to facilitate his signing.

The most likely candidate to be offloaded is Joaquin Correa, but Edin Dzeko or even Lautaro Martinez could well depart in the summer.
