Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will make a decision tomorrow on whether or not to call up striker Romelu Lukaku for Saturday’s friendly match against Real Betis.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coach will evaluate whether he thinks that the 29-year-old would benefit more from participation in the match or from an additional training session.

Lukaku is aiming to use the rest of the World Cup break to reach his best possible fitness and form, something that he was not able to do for the World Cup with Belgium.

The training sessions will be important for the striker to start getting his cardiovascular fitness back to its optimal condition, whilst friendly matches will be key to getting playing time in his legs for match sharpness.

Saturday’s match against Betis is the first of three friendlies left before the return of the Serie A season.

Inzaghi will make the decision tomorrow whether Lukaku would benefit more from participation in that match, or from staying back and completing another double training session.
