Paris Saint-Germain are still right there in the background as Inter have yet to agree a contract extension with defender Milan Skriniar.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the presence of the French champions is felt by the club and by Skriniar as they wait for developments in the negotiations.

Talks remain positive and amenable between Inter and Skriniar, but as of yet the 27-year-old has not given a definitive response to the Nerazzurri’s contract extension offer.

Accordingly, PSG have not given up hope on the possibility of signing the Slovakian, who had been a major target for them during the summer transfer window.

The Parisians are waiting to see if the talks between Inter and Skriniar drag into the January transfer window.

Should the Nerazzurri fail to convince the 27-year-old on an agreement by that point, then the French champions could become a factor once again.
