Barcelona President Joan Laporta feels that his team were not favoured by the officials in their Champions League clashes with Inter and Bayern Munich.

Speaking to the Blaugranas’ official social media channel, via FCInterNews, the club President noted that in his view, the officiating had been a factor in his teams’ elimination from the Champions League group stage.

Inter managed to qualify for the Champions League round of sixteen from what was widely considered to be the most difficult group.

The matches against the Blaugranas were particularly important for the Nerazzurri, as four points were enough to see them through at the expense of the Catalan giants, with a match to spare in the end.

In the first of the two matches at the San Siro in particular, Barcelona felt hard done by with some refereeing decisions, however, whilst they also had their complaints regarding their two losses at the hands of Bayern.

“I don’t want to talk too much about the refereeing at the stadiums of Bayern and Inter,” Laporta said, “but let’s just say that the referees didn’t favour us.”
