Inter are considering a move for Cagliari-owned goalkeeper Alessio Cragno as a replacement if captain Samir Handanovic leaves in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are considering the 28-year-old who will almost certainly find a new club next summer given how his loan spell with Monza has went.

Cragno joined Monza on loan from Cagliari in the summer transfer window before this season, as part of the Brianzoli’s ambitious effort to reinforce their squad for their first season in Serie A.

However, the 28-year-old has yet to make an appearance in the league for the Lombard team.

Accordingly, it is virtually certain that Cragno will join a new team next summer.

Whilst Cragno would not be available on a free transfer as Bournemouth’s Neto or Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer would be, he would still be a low-cost solution to replace Handanovic, and the Nerazzurri are well aware of this.
