Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will be hoping that his positive record against Napoli in Serie A will be a good omen for the massive head-to-head clash with the Partenopei next month.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the 29-year-old has never lost to the Partenopei in Serie A, and that he has scored three goals against the Neapolitans.

In Lukaku’s first meeting with Napoli, during the 2019-20 season, the Belgian scored two first-half goals, decisive in a 3-1 win.

The striker was also on the scoresheet in a 1-0 victory over the Partenopei during the 2020-21 campaign, a result that was a key step along the way to winning the Serie A title that season.

Lukaku has lost to Napoli, coming in a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash during the 2019-20 campaign.

However, in the league Lukaku’s record stands at three wins and one draw when facing the Partenopei, a positive trend that he will hope can continue on January 4.
