Inter are close to offering contract extensions to wingback Matteo Darmian and defender Danilo D’Ambrosio.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who reported this afternoon that the Nerazzurri feel that they could get negotiations wrapped up fairly quickly with the pair.
Darmian and D’Ambrosio are among the eight Inter players whose current contracts are set to run out at the end of June 2023.
Whilst the priority at the moment is reaching an agreement with Milan Skriniar on a new deal, the club are also laying the groundwork for the rest of their strategy after concluding the high-profile negotiations with the Slovakian.
Both 33-year-old Darmian and 34-year-old D’Ambrosio are still seen within the club as reliable options, and so they have already begun discussions with the players’ representations regarding short-term extensions.
Formal offers to both of the pair are expected within the coming days or weeks, and Inter are fairly optimistic that they can agree new deals with both.
