Inter would consider Club Brugge winger Tajon Buchanan as the ideal replacement for Denzel Dumfries should the Dutchman be sold.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 23-year-old has definitively emerged as the first name on the Nerazzurri’s list in the event of a Dumfries departure.
Chelsea’s interest in signing Dumfries is starting to loom large, possibly even for the January transfer window.
The Blues are not the only big club keen to sign the Dutchman.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri have set themselves the task of lining up a like-for-like successor for Dumfries should he depart in a big money sale.
In this respect, Buchanan is seen as an ideal successor to the 26-year-old.
Inter are big fans of the Canadian international based on his performances at club level and for his country at the World Cup.
Buchanan would cost around €20 million to sign from Brugge.
