Inter striker Romelu Lukaku came in for heavy criticism after a sub-par performance against Monza in the 2-2 draw in Serie A yesterday evening.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgium international was the worst player on the pitch at the U-Power Stadium and made no impact after coming on as a substitute for Edin Dzeko in the 55th minute.

Lukaku was awarded a score of 4 in the newspaper’s player ratings, in contrast to the 7 awarded to fellow striker Lautaro Martinez after he netted the second goal for the Nerazzurri.

Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan also came in for criticism and was given a 5, the same score as coach Simone Inzaghi, whilst Dzeko, Kristjan Asllani, Roberto Gagliardini, and Denzel Dumfries fared slightly better at 5.5

A disappointing evening for Inter saw few players impress, with only Matteo Darmian and Alessandro Bastoni joining Martinez on a 7, though Hakan Calhanoglu received a 6.5.

Andre Onana, Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, Nicolo Barella, and Federico Dimarco all received a rating of 6.
