Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu could miss out on the team’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with AC Milan due to a hip injury.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 28-year-old is doubt for the match against the Rossoneri after some muscular discomfort which could be a knock to his hip flexor, whilst Nicolo Barella should be fit in time for the match.

Both Calhanoglu and Barella are set to undergo further medical tests tomorrow which will give a clearer indication of their timelines for recovery from the muscle problems which caused them each to come off as substitutes during the second half of the team’s Serie A clash with Monza.

In Barella’s case, the feeling is that whilst the 25-year-old will be out for the Coppa Italia match against Parma, he should not miss out on the Supercoppa match.

With Calhanoglu, on the other hand, everything will depend on the outcome of the medical tests tomorrow.
