Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga still feels that coaching his old side the Nerazzurri would be a dream for him, even if a far-off one.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Corriere dello Sera, via FCInterNews, the former keeper gave his thoughts on a number of topics around his relationship with Inter.

After hanging up his gloves, Zenga went into coaching, and the former Inter player has been quite prolific as he has coached numerous teams in Italy as well as in multiple other countries.

Zenga has been in charge of the likes of Sampdoria, Crotone, and Cagliari among others in Serie A, and also had a relatively recent spell coaching Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship.

One club that the 62-year-old has never coached is Inter, however, although it is still something that would naturally be a very attractive proposition to him.

“It’s always been a dream,” Zenga said of the prospect of coaching Inter, “I’ve gone through the entire process of coming through the youth team, I’ve worked at the club, now I’m a legend there.”

“In life it’s important to chase a big dream,” he suggested, “it doesn’t matter if it comes true or not.”

“For me, the biggest source of satisfaction is that even today, Inter fans stop me on the street as though I had played for the club yesterday,” Zenga noted.
