Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries is set to start for the Nerazzurri in Monday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 26-year-old is the favourite to start against the Blucerchiati ahead of Matteo Darmian.

It has been Darmian who has been considered to be the first-choice option at right-wingback in Inter’s recent matches, as the 33-year-old started on the right flank in the Milan derby on Sunday.

However, Dumfries is also pushing for his chances, and according to the Corriere, the Dutchman will be given the opportunity to play from the start in Monday’s away trip to Liguria.

The newspaper also predicts that Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic will be fit to start.

The Corriere’s complete predicted starting eleven for the match is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Skriniar, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lukaku, Lautaro.
