The Mayor of the Rozzano area feels that, if AC Milan were to build a new stadium in his municipality, it would be something welcome.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Il Giorno in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via FCInter1908, Rozzano Mayor Gianni Ferretti gave his thoughts on the reports that the Rossoneri could consider the municipality as an alternative location for a new stadium.
As the process of waiting for approval to build a new stadium to replace the San Siro in the city of Milan drags on for Inter and Milan, both clubs have increasingly been considering other possibilities.
The Rossoneri, however, look to be more inclined to urgently consider alternatives to the San Siro compared to the Nerazzurri.
Accordingly, there is a possibility that the clubs could build new stadiums separately, if Milan are to decide that there is no time to wait and go it alone.
The Sesto San Giovanni area has been mooted as one real possibility, but there are also others, one of which is Rozzano according to reports.
Rozzano Mayor Ferretti explained that “I’m a Nerazzurri fan but if the news were true and Milan decided to come to Rozzano, it would be no problem for us because it would be an opportunity for the whole municipality.”
“San Siro remains a temple for me of football,” the Mayor noted, “but if they have to build a new stadium outside Milan, obviously Rozzano is a great option.”
