Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is in line to start against Sampdoria in Serie A on Monday evening, as he pushes to regain full match fitness.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is keen to give Lukaku an opportunity to impress from the start at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and will select the Belgium international, unless there are any issues that arise in the final training sessions.

Lukaku has struggled with injuries and fitness issues since returning to Inter on loan from Chelsea last summer, and has only made 11 appearances in all competitions, totalling just 474 minutes of action.

Indeed, the 29-year-old has only netted twice all season and has not struck in Serie A since the opening day of the campaign in August.

The former Manchester United striker will take the place of Edin Dzeko in the team, joining Lautaro Martinez in attack against the Blucerchiati.
